a) You should have a running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Server.
b) You should have sudo or root access to run privileged commands.
c) You should have apt or apt-get utility available in your Server.
d) You should have aptitude package manager available in your system in case you would like to use this package manager for xterm installation.
To install all the latest security patches and updates, run sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade command as shown below. This will safeguard your system from all security vulnerabilities and keep the system stable.

Step 5: Check Version
To check the current installed version, you can use
xterm -versioncommand as shown below.cyberithub@ubuntu:~$ xterm -version XTerm(372)
Step 6: Launch xterm
To launch xterm, go to
Desktopand click onActivities. Then searchxtermin the search bar as shown below. Once it appears, click on it to open.
It should open like below. Now you can use xterm to perform your required task.
Step 7: Check all available options
You can also explore all the options available with xterm utility by using

Step 8: Uninstall xterm
Once you are done using xterm utility, you can choose to uninstall it from your system by using any of the below methods depending on how you installed it.
a) Using apt or apt-get
If you installed xterm using either
aptorapt-getpackage manager then to uninstall you have to run eithersudo apt remove xtermorsudo apt-get remove xtermcommand as shown below. You can also remove all the dependencies along with the package by using--auto-removeoption. But be careful before using this option as sometimes dependent packages may be used by some other active applications in your system.
